Running the Coast: Following the 1000 Mile Striper Run

It’s about time someone made this film! The striped bass is the East Coast’s favorite gamefish. Its accessibility, power, and history make it an integral part of angling culture in the Northeast. In this series, Howard Films followed the iconic fish during its 1000 mile migration, stopping along the way to talk to striper legends and of course make a couple casts!

“From shallow water worm hatches in Rhode Island, biblical blitzes off of Long Island’s Montauk, and neurotic fish darting on white flats, we see the striped bass pursued in every way. And while often going without sleep or food or family, we learn what it takes to catch the most mysterious and adventurous fish in the Atlantic Ocean, and maybe something about ourselves as well.”
