The World’s Most Extreme Fisherman

Would you do this just to get to your favorite fishing spot? Laotian fisherman Sam Niang is forced to risk his life in order to catch enough fish for his¬†family. During flood season, he is forced to cross a highwire made of cable and rope, which he installed in the dry season. Any slip would mean certain death for him. He knows that he can always catch fish on the other side of the highwire, which leads to an island in the middle of the gigantic Mekong River (home to the world’s largest freshwater fish). It is safe to say that Sam Niang can join the ranks of Jeremy Wade and call himself an extreme fisherman.
