Wild Salmon From the Beach

One of the major perks for me about living in Seattle is the possibility of fishing for wild salmon, from the beach, before work. I’ve been talking about doing it for weeks and today I did it. 4:30 wake up, 5:35 ferry, on the water by 6:30. Made a bad call on the first beach I hit- no good at low tide. Hiked sweatily back to the car and drove to another beach. At around 8:38 I stripped into something solid and came tight to a truly stunning, electric green coho salmon around ten pounds. That was all I needed, so I got back on the ferry, got a breakfast burrito and a coffee refill, and headed off to work. Just another shitty rainy Wednesday in Seattle.

Check out the Commando Head Skagit Lines from Olympic Peninsula Skagit Tactics that were used to catch this fish. They are next level!
